Who we are

The Open for Change network is the result of the integration of "IS Hub", an informal network of innovative web 2.0 development organisations, into Partos.  The network was initially formed by Akvo, 1%CLUB, Text2Change, Africa Interactive, Global Village Media, Nabuur and Nivocer, and was later on joined by a.o. Peers, Hivos, Oxfam Novib, Butterfly Works, Pif World and Partos. To further promote innovation and standardisation of 'web 2.0' practices in the Dutch development sector, the network now operates under Partos. Open for Change actively seeks collaboration with international partners.

Founding partners

Akvo is a next generation development organisation that works to increase efficiency, transparency and feedback to the general public, drawing on the power of information technology. Akvo addresses the risks of diminishing support for development co-operation by helping doers and donors reach out using internet and phone based tools that improve online knowledge sharing, fundraising and reporting.

1%CLUB is the online marketplace that connects people with smart ideas in developing countries with people, money and knowledge around the world. We are talking about sustainable projects that stimulate the self-reliance of individuals anywhere in the world and improve their standard of living.

TexttoChange combines the need for innovative health education in the developing world, with the increasing growth in mobile telephony. We design text-message based health education programmes to ensure that people are kept up to date with information and access to healthcare.

NABUUR has years of experience in online volunteering. Communities in developing countries drive their own projects.

Africa Interactive is a fast growing multimedia press- and content agency in Africa, with 900 local reporters in 43 African countries. Our reporters tell the African story in text, photo or video. Our database contains filmmakers, journalists, photographers, stringers and marketing experts.

Global Village Media has started up and runs as part of the Oneworld
International network.

Nivocer provides development, hosting and support for tailor-made websites for monitoring and evaluation and online surveys, as well as consulting on open data and online collaboration, mainly focusing on the international development sector.

Peers is a Dutch private company located in The Hague. We are dedicated to support your daily online conversations

Butterfly Works co-designs for a better world. Our studio is based in Amsterdam and works globally with a core team of 15 designers and organisers.

PIFworld is the charity platform where members can donate the projects they choose. The Pifworld platform empowers and enables people to increase and bundle their individual effort for positive change worldwide.

Partos is the national platform for Dutch civil society organisations in the international development cooperation sector.
